SURVEY GIVES SERVICE INSIGHT

Late last year we invited clients to share their views in the Forsyth Barr Client Survey conducted by independent firm Investment Trends. We sincerely thank those who responded for your time, effort and honest feedback. I am pleased to share some key highlights from this research.

We are very encouraged by the number of responses which collectively expressed many positive views on Forsyth Barr. For instance, 90% of all responses rated overall satisfaction with the firm as ‘good’ or ‘very good’, while 91% held the same view about their personal Forsyth Barr investment adviser.

I am particularly pleased to be able to tell you that across 14 key service elements measured in the survey, the highest rated aspect of our services was ‘conduct and integrity’.

When we asked why they chose to use a Forsyth Barr investment adviser, clients most often said they were influenced by a positive recommendation from a friend or family member. A third of responses acknowledged Forsyth Barr’s strong reputation. And to the 45% of respondents who said they recommended Forsyth Barr to their peers in 2018, we cannot thank you enough for your ongoing advocacy and confidence in us.

While it is always encouraging to receive positive feedback from our clients, we assure you that we do not intend to rest on our laurels: responses noted that Forsyth Barr could improve many aspects of our service, especially around communications. Many said they would like to hear more from their investment adviser or the firm.

We also learned there is room to make our services even more personalised to our clients and their needs. Many of you expressed a desire to see technology form a greater part of the service we provide.

Taking this feedback on board, we are implementing a number of improvements in the coming year, including a revamped website and mobile apps. Not only will these be simpler to navigate and make it easier to find information, they will enable clients to customise the information and/or research they want to receive from us. I also have a personal desire to see all (or as many as possible) forms eliminated from our business. We want to spend the valued time we have available with you focused on your personal investment needs.

Our goal is to provide service and advice that is tailored to our clients’ unique objectives and aspirations. We will strive to maintain the high level of service you have told us you receive from Forsyth Barr, and we will work even harder to improve in the areas where you have so kindly told us we can do better.

We offered a prize for respondents to our survey – a two nights all-inclusive stay at either Blanket Bay Lodge or Huka Lodge. We were very pleased to acknowledge Kevin and Ruth Rawlings as the winners of this prize.

The Rawlings are a retired couple who reside in Levin and utilise Aaron Raitt in our Hutt office as their investment adviser. Mr Rawlings is a retired builder who is turning his skills to working on their lifestyle block as well as enjoying the sport of golf croquet. Mrs Rawlings is a retired payroll manager who also enjoys golf croquet and is actively involved with the women’s service organisation Altrusa. She also volunteers her timƒe with organisations like Birthright and the local Teen Parent unit. The Rawlings are looking forward to a stay at Huka Lodge and we are delighted they will be able to do so.
